BUSLINK Qld has announced that buses servicing masterplanned community Riverstone Rise at Boyne Island are now available.
Bus number 550 will now provide school children with transport from Riverstone Rise to schools in Boyne Island, Tannum and Gladstone.
The 550 bus travelling towards Boyne/Tannum stops at Tannum Sands State High School, Tannum Sands Primary and Boyne Island Primary.
The 550 bus travelling towards Gladstone stops at Stockland Kin Kora. Transfer services are available to nearby schools.
The bus services are available during the week before and after school hours.
Riverstone Rise Project Director Grant Botica welcomed the extension of bus services to Riverstone Rise.
“Families at Riverstone Rise are thrilled that their children now have an easy and safe way to travel to school every day,” he said.
“It will also make travelling to the shops and beaches a breeze.
“The extension of the 550 service to Riverstone Rise will only add to the extensive amenity already available at this stunning community.”
Riverstone Rise is located in Boyne Island - close enough to the Gladstone CBD to enjoy all of the amenities and just five minutes from the popular beach community Tannum Sands.
A childcare centre has opened and there are plans for a proposed retail hub, medical centre, a primary school and river facilities to complement the 4.2km river frontage. Over 128ha of the site will be dedicated to reserves, open spaces and parklands.
Upon completion, Riverstone Rise will be home to over 7,500 people. There are currently 500 people living in the community.
