Riverstone Rise is an established masterplanned community developed by Devine (a wholly owned subsidiary of the CIMIC Group) in Boyne Island, near Gladstone, Queensland. It is Gladstone's first truly masterplanned community, designed to blend urban living with natural surroundings.

The development spans 496 hectares and is planned to include approximately 2,900 homes, educational facilities, community centres, and retail spaces. A key feature is the 26% of the site dedicated to open space, along with 4.2 kilometres of Boyne River frontage, preserved local wetlands, and 21.2 kilometres of bikeways upon completion.

The site acknowledges the Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng and Taribelang Bunda peoples as the Traditional Owners of the land.

## Location and Amenity

Riverstone Rise is located in Boyne Island, Central Queensland, positioned between Gladstone and Tannum Sands. Key distances include 17 km from Gladstone CBD, 7 km to Tannum Sands beach, and 14 km from Lake Awoonga.

Local amenities and services include five schools within 8 km, two shopping centres within 5 km, the Boyne Island Tannum Country Club (2 km away), a childcare centre already operating within the community, and a range of additional educational facilities planned for the project.

The community is focused on family living and an active outdoor lifestyle, with parks, sports ovals, and winding hike and bike trails throughout the development.

## Heritage

Riverstone Rise occupies a property historically owned by the Turich family, who have been in the Gladstone area since patriarch Charles John Turich emigrated from Germany in 1854. The community is named after a nearby property called Riverstone, once belonging to Maurice O'Connell, the Governor of the area's first settlement, who named it after his home in Ireland. Villages within the development are inspired by folklore surrounding the Turich property.
